London Heathrow Airport
Rail-Air Link Coaches go between the Central Bus Station at Heathrow and Woking Rail Station. Rail-Air Link Coaches are part of the rail network, so you can get a continuous ticket covering both the coach and the train.
London Gatwick Airport
The hourly service between Gatwick and Reading calls at Guildford. It takes about 40 minutes Gatwick to Guildford.
Fast trains (the main line to Portsmouth) depart from London Waterloo for Guildford four times an hour in daytime and every half-hour until 11.45pm. The journey time is about 40 minutes.
Many ferries from the continent call at Portsmouth. The train station is only 10 min. walk from the harbour, and the train journey to Guildford is about 1h (on the main line to London).

Further information about rail services can be obtained from National Rail.

University from the Train Station

Leave station by footbridge and rear exit. Turn right from the station along Guildford Park Road and take the second turning on the right. Follow the path through the park-and-ride car park to the campus.
ARRIVA buses (leave station by footbridge and rear exit, cross main road to bus stop) operate a regular service to the campus. Services 17, 27 and 37 run approximately every ten minutes during the day. The earliest service is at approximately 6am and the last bus is just before midnight. On Sundays there is a reduced service. For further information, call Traveline on 0870 608 2608.

It pays to call a taxi from Guildford. The London-based taxis on the taxi stand tend to be about twice the price. Two random taxi companies in Guildford that I happen to have used are Beeline cars and A3 cars. They offer fixed tarifs to/from the airport (£40-£45 last time we checked).
The most convenient travel from the airport is train. See above.

Gatwick has a taxi counter (broker) where you will get a reasonable fare with a company appropriate for your destination.
